It’s easier to buy and sell when financing is available

When I talk with carriers and owner-operators, they are often surprised to hear that almost any private sale of used equipment between unrelated parties can be financed.

For example, many people use websites like Kijiji to sell their used equipment, but very few think to include the words “Financing available” in their ads. You don’t have to be a financing company to write this in your ad; you just have to refer buyers to me.

It’s much easier to get the full asking price if you can offer buyers financing, so they don’t have to find 100% of the cash before they can buy from you. As long as they can come up with a down payment of 10% – 20%, I will finance the rest over 24 – 60 months. So remember to put “Financing available” in any ad you post to sell equipment.

And if you are looking to buy, then you can get the purchase financed as long as you are not related to the seller.

If there is bruised credit involved, I can still get the deal done, but the monthly payments will be a little higher.

Drivers’ Humour

I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn’t find any.

A highway cop finds a trailer upside down in the median with no tractor attached. He races up the road, finds a bobtail rig cruising along, pulls it over, and then takes the rookie driver back to the scene of the accident. The driver looks at the upside down trailer and says, “Yeah I had a trailer, but that’s not it.  Mine had wheels on the bottom.”
